The Hamilton Karting Complex hosted two exhilarating days of racing for RMC Ontario Race 2 and 3, part of the Constructors Cup. With over 150 entries across Briggs, ROK, and Rotax categories, the weekend was packed with action under sunny skies. The ROTAX Senior class was the largest as 31 drivers came to get in on the action.
ROTAX MINI MAX
Leo DaSilva continued his dominant form from Race 1, almost sweeping the weekend. On Saturday, during Race 2, he secured pole position, won the Pre-Final, and led every lap of the Final, though Ava Cabral was right on his heels, finishing just one-tenth of a second behind. Sunday’s Race 3 saw new contenders step up, with Stefano Lanzillotta claiming pole in qualifying, closely followed by Brando Londono and DaSilva, all within a few hundredths of a second. Londono took the Pre-Final win in a tight race with Cabral, but DaSilva returned to the top in the Final, taking the lead on lap 2 and never looking back.
DaSilva now holds a comfortable lead in the RMC Ontario Championship, but with double points on offer at the upcoming Canadian Nationals, the title race is far from over.

ROTAX JR MAX
The Junior category saw a strong field of 20 drivers. Saturday’s Race 2 featured Jensen Burnett continuing his dominance by securing pole position. He led the Pre-Final from start to finish, but Jackson Morley, starting from 6th, made an impressive charge to finish 2nd, followed closely by teammate Pearce Wade, who set the fastest lap. The Final was a tense battle that saw Morley get close to Burnett but could not get passed. The final result was the same as the Prefinal with Burnett taking the win, Morley in 2nd and Wade in 3rd.
Sunday’s Race 3 added unexpected drama as the leaders from Race 2, Morley and Burnett, both had issues in the Pre-final. Morley was involved in a collision that dropped him to 12th, while Burnett faced a disqualification for a tech infraction, forcing him to start the Final from the back of the grid. Wade and Medeiros started on the final in the front row, and Burnett immediately began his charge through the field. By lap 15, Burnett had caught the leaders but collided with teammate Oliver Mrak, ending both their races. With 5 laps to go, Wade led the race, but a group including Deonarine, Medeiros, Kennedy, and Morley was close behind and spent the rest of the race battling. A brake issue took Deonarine out of contention, and Kennedy emerged victorious, followed by Morley in 2nd and Medeiros in 3rd.
Burnett’s DNF has shaken up the points standings, with Medeiros now leading the championship and Morley just 5 points behind. The double points at Canadian Nationals will be crucial in deciding the champion.

SENIOR MAX
The Senior Max category boasted the largest field, with 31 drivers, including several who missed Race 1. Among them was Timothy Pernod from PSL, racing under the Prime Powerteam Tent. Pernod dominated Saturday’s Race 2, sweeping pole, the Pre-Final, and the Final. The Final was chaotic, with multiple incidents leading to 11 DNFs and a Red Flag due to a kart flipping. After the restart, the race resumed cleanly, with Ryan Maxwell finishing 2nd and Frankie Esposito in 3rd.
Sunday’s Race 3 was more controlled, with Esposito taking pole in a very competitive field. The Final saw multiple lead changes, with Esposito ultimately taking the win, followed by Pernod in 2nd and Arnaud Sabourin in 3rd, who set the fastest lap.
Esposito now leads the championship, but with the upcoming Canadian Nationals offering double points and a drop round factored in, the title race remains wide open.
